Creating A New Project

3 min read

Step 1: You can create a new Project in 3 different ways.

Method 1: Select the main Projects folder in the Work Management area of Proceve. You should see a screen similar to the following:

Step 1.1: From here, select the “New Project” Tile to launch the New Project Wizard.

Method 2: Right-click on the Projects folder in the Work Management area of Proceve. This will launch a pop-up menu that looks like the following:

Step 1.2: Click on “New Project” in the pop-up menu to launch the New Project Wizard.

Method 3: If you have an existing project already created, you may create a new Project as a Sub-Project under that existing one. Right-click on the existing project. This will launch a pop-up menu that looks like the following:

Step 1.3: Click on “New Sub Project” to launch the New Project Wizard. This new project will be created as a Sub-Project or Workstream of the main project you selected (“Demo Project 1” in our example).

Step 2: Give your project a name.

Step 3: Once you enter a name, the system will automatically assign it a Project Code. You may manually edit this project code if you wish.

NOTE: Project Codes must be unique within your account. If you enter a code that has already been used for another project within your account, the system will reject it.

Step 4: You may (optionally) give your project a short summary description.

Step 5: The system (optionally) also allows you to enter a much longer Project Description as well.

Step 6: Once you have entered the required information, click “Next” to invite other people to your project.

Step 7: In the members tab, click on the “+” sign to start adding new people to your project.

NOTE: If you already have other people invited to your account, the system will attempt to look them up to speed up the process of adding them to the project. They will be sent an email letting them know they have been invited to the project. If they are not already members of your account, the system will send them an email inviting them not only to the project but also to the account.

Step 8: Add the new user to your project.

Step 9: Once all of the users have been added, click “Next”.

Step 10: Select the project Type and the types of Project Artifacts you want to manage in this project and click “Next”.

NOTE: At this time, the system pre-populates your project with a Generic Project Type and the 4 main Artifact types, plus Documents are included by default. By Default all three available View types are also turned on by default.

Step 11: Verify the information and then click “Create” to create your new project.

Step 12: Once the Project is created, you are taken to the Team management view for that Project.

Notice that the Demo User was automatically added to the project as the one who created it. Also notice that John and Anne are listed as “Has Not Accepted”. Once they accept, their status will update automatically and will look as follows:

Step 13: Your project is now ready to use, but has no Artifacts (Documents, Requirements, Tasks, Tests, Issues, etc.) in it. It is blank canvas, ready for you to get to work.
